South Lafourche Biddy Basketball is hosting a Coaches Clinic later this month to polish the skills of those wanting to work with our area’s youth.

The league announced their clinic today, which will be hosted on August 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the Cut Off Youth Center. The clinic is for all coaches of any experience level and is geared to getting coaches prepared for the upcoming Biddy Basketball season. The clinic will focus on the essentials of running effective practices, fundamental drills and sharpening in-game strategies.

South Lafourche Biddy Basketball President Damien St. Pierre said the clinic is something he has long wanted to do in an effort to introduce the craft to youth sports coaches and give them a better of idea of some things to do when coaching their teams each year.

Also set to appear is South Lafourche girls’ basketball coach Darian Jenkins and also Assumption boys’ basketball coach Thomas Clement, who was also the Director of Operations for Nicholls’ men’s basketball team last season.

All of the coaches will be on hand at the event and will share valuable insight and demonstrate their methods with live players on-site.

The event is free to any and all coaches who wish to attend.
