Terrebonne’s volleyball season came to a close Wednesday night in Slidell, where the 23rd-seeded Tigers fell to No. 10 Slidell 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 in the first round of the Division I state playoffs.

Slidell’s serving set the tone. The home team kept steady pressure on Terrebonne from the service line, making it tough for the Tigers to get clean passes and run their offense.

Slidell never trailed in the first set and pulled away late in the second after Terrebonne settled in. The Tigers came out strong in the third and grabbed an early lead, but Slidell rallied to close out the sweep 25-23.

Grace Chawki led Slidell with 14 kills, eight digs and three aces, while Emma Pippenger added 13 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore setter Tessa Symons handed out 40 assists and served two aces, Jasira Banks had eight digs and four kills, and Teagan Canion added seven kills.

Terrebonne finishes the season 21-17. Slidell (25-12) moves on to the second round to face either No. 7 Barbe or No. 26 John Ehret.
