Today’s Throwback Thursday goes all the way back to the 1970s with a Thibodaux High School standout who had his time in the NFL.

Tom Roussel is a former Thibodaux Tiger who was a Tigers standout in the 1960s. He then went to Southern Miss where he had a great career, working hard to get to the professional ranks as a 2nd Round Pick of the 1968 NFL Draft.

Roussel played several seasons in the NFL for 3 teams, first with the Washington Redskins, but then with the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles. His career spanned from 1968-1973.

Roussel was part of the earliest days of the Saints’ franchise. He recorded 2 interceptions and 3.5 sacks during the course of his career.

Roussel is still alive today. He is 78 years old, according to Wikipedia.
