Central Lafourche High School is removing the interim tag from its boys’ basketball coach, staking him to lead the program into the future.
Multiple sources alerted By-U Sports tonight that Gage Griffin has been notified that he would be the team’s new head coach, removing the interim tag from his title after he took over the team in the middle of the 2022-2023 season. Those whispers were confirmed tonight when Principal Chris Arnold confirmed that Griffin will be the team’s head coach.
Griffin was an assistant coach with Central Lafourche, then took over the team in the middle of last season after Henry Latten resigned from his position.
Griffin coached the team for the remainder of the season and led the team to an improvement in their win total, despite a youthful roster. After the season, Central Lafourche opened the position for applications, but then opted to stick with Griffin.
Prior to his coaching career, Griffin was also a player at Central Lafourche. His brother, Evan is a standout player for the Trojans, as well – a rising senior.
