The LSU men’s basketball team added its 5th player in the transfer portal today – another from Louisiana.
George Washington transfer Hunter Dean announced his pledge to LSU on Monday, giving the Tigers a 5th player in the portal so far this recruiting cycle with 4 of the 5 being originally from Louisiana.
Dean is a 6-foot, 10-inch post. He is a native of Mandeville and graduate of Lakeshore. Last year with George Washington, Dean averaged 8.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, shooting 64.1% from the field. Dean is a banger on the low block who will give a paint presence to the LSU lineup.
He’s also going to give depth to a team trying for a turnaround. The Tigers also got portal commitments from guard Carlos Stewart, center Will Baker, forward Jordan Wright and guard Jalen Cook. 24-7 Sports ranks the Tigers’ portal haul as the 8th best in the country so far.
