A local swimmer has been selected to represent Louisiana as a member of the 2023 Southern Zone Championship Team which is set to compete in Cary, North Carolina later this month.
Thibodaux Regional Swim Team announced that Bree Usey has earned the honor just before the start of her 7th grade school year at St. Joseph Elementary this coming fall.
Usey is known in the pool as the ‘Teal Seal’ and she was selected to the Louisiana All-Star team due to her performance at the recent LA Age Group State Championships which were held in Baton Rouge.
At the event, Usey will be competing against fellow all-star teams and swimmers from Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Texas.
Usey swims for the Thibodaux Regional Swim Team, the Bayou Stingrays and said she loves to be on the water.
