Jesse Turner’s first night as the CCA head football coach is one he will not soon forget.
The Lions blasted Thrive Academy 50-0 on Thursday night, improving CCA to 1-0 on the season in the lopsided win.
Turner said on Thursday morning that he was proud of his team’s preparations for the season and that he was fired up for his first-ever game coaching CCA.
“It’s always a little extra special when it’s the first one,” he said.
And his guys delivered, dominating all 3 phases and rolling to an easy win.
Landon Winslow rushed for 2 scores for the Lions. Also scoring for CCA was Carson Hebert (1 rushing TD), Kyler Robichaux (1 rushing TD, 1 passing TD), Conner Bascle (1 receiving TD), Bailey Streams (1 receiving TD), Tristen Rogers (2 passing TDs), Owen Trosclair (1 receiving TD) and Conner Lally (1 rushing TD).
With the win, the Lions take momentum into their Week 2 rivalry matchup with Houma Christian next week.
