
Thibodaux High School announced its 2023 inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame this week – a star-studded 6-person class that showcases the rich athletic history at the school.
Tigers’ Athletic Director Tony Clark sent out a release announcing the new inductees this week, saying that the class will be honored at halftime of Thibodaux’s football game with Destrehan on November 3. The class was chosen by Thibodaux’s Hall of Fame Committee.
The inductees are listed below with their accolades:
Thomas ‘Skee’ Roussel – THS Class of 1963 –
Thomas Roussel was a 3 sports athlete at THS. He went on to play football at the University of Southern Mississippi. In 1969, he was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 2nd round and was the #38th overall pick. He was the 1st THS football player to ever play professional football.
Elmo Boudreaux – THS Class of 1971 –
Elmo was a 2 year letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball, and 1 year in track and field. He was an all-district performer his junior and senior football seasons, and was an all state DB as a senior. During his season in track and field, he broke the school triple jump record and held it for many years. He went on to receive a scholarship and played football at Nicholls St. and was a 4 year letter winner with the Colonels.
Scott Sanders – Class of 1987 –
Scott Sanders was a 2 sports letterman at THS and a Pitcher for the Baseball team. From THS, Scott received a scholarship to Nicholls State and was a Pitcher for the Colonels In 1990, Scott was drafted in the 1st round by the San Diego Padres and went on to a long successful career in Major League Baseball.
Mark Davis – Class of 1991 –
Mark was a letterman in Basketball at THS and an all-district, parish, regional and state honoree. He was selected a 2nd team All American his Senior season. FromTHS,he went onto Howard College where he was 1st team All conference and team MVP, then to Texas Tech where he was 1st team All SouthWest Conference. In 1995, he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Sartaria White, Class of 1999 –
Sataria was a 3 sport letterman at THS in the sports of Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. She was a 1st team all district and region performer for all 3 of her years as a volleyball player and all state as a Jr. and Sr. She was a state champion triple Jumper her Junior and Senior season at THS. She has 8 regional championships awards and 5 district championships.
