Another week, another win for E.D. White.

Let’s check it out:

WEEK 6 POWER 5 RANKINGS:

  1. E.D. White – The Cardinals got another dominant showing on Friday in a lopsided win over a Thibodaux team that is far better than their record would indicate. E.D. White heads into district play and will be favored to win their next couple of games. The key now for the Cardinals is two-fold: health and staying sharp with the playoffs suddenly right around the corner.
  2. Terrebonne – The Tigers surpassed last year’s win total on Friday night in a blowout win over Central Lafourche. The Tigers will be heavily favored again on Friday in a contest with Ellender – a revenge game after the Patriots beat the Tigers last year.
  3. Assumption – The Mustangs catapult three spots this week after a blowout win over Morgan City. The Mustangs are the forgotten about team locally, but they head into a matchup with South Lafourche on Friday night that will be absolutely huge for both teams. That’s a big one. Can’t wait to see how it shakes out.
  4. Vandebilt – The Terriers could easily be No. 2 in these rankings. They have that type of talent. But sitting at 2-3 overall, you just can’t put the Terriers above Terrebonne or even Assumption right now. But with the hardest part of their schedule now over, we expect Vandebilt to begin to make a run.
  5. South Lafourche – The Tarpons are heading into a huge game on Friday night against Assumption. In Division I non-select, there’s no ways around it. If you want to make the playoffs, that’s an absolute must-win game. You have to have that one. You have to find a way to win that football game. It won’t be easy, but at home and sitting with a 3-2 record, that’s one that you have to get.

DTB CLOTHING PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offensive Player of the Week – South Terrebonne back Brodie Dupre – With the Gators in dire need of a win after an 0-4 start, Brodie Dupre delivered the goods, posting a 4-touchdown game for the Gators in their victory over Ellender on Friday night.

Defensive Player of the Week – E.D. White linebacker Taylor Thibodaux – The E.D. White defense put points on the board on Friday night in a shutout win over Thibodaux. Linebacker Taylor Thibodaux was one of the culprits, stepping in front of a pass and taking it to the house in the win.

Quote of the Week: “We remember that one from last year. Our guys will be ready to go.” Terrebonne coach Tyler Lewis talking about his team’s matchup with Ellender on Friday.
