Sophomore Kade Nelson will play the rest of the season with a club on his hand after breaking it.

The South Lafourche High School football team got a shot in the arm today with the return of a standout defensive lineman who was feared to be out for the season.

The parents of Tarpons sophomore defensive tackle Kade Nelson confirmed on social media today that Nelson saw a specialist for his broken hand and he’s been cleared to compete the rest of the season for Big Blue. Nelson will wear a cast on the broken hand, but will be able to still play.

That’s a huge boost for South Lafourche – a team that is in dire need of good injury news after losing several players in recent weeks. Earlier, the Nelson family posted that they feared the sophomore would have to miss the rest of the season with the injury.
