One of the top weapons on the explosive E.D. White offense is staying close to home to play his college football.
Receiver Paxton Lafont announced on social media this week that he’s committed to Nicholls State University – a big get for coach Tim Rebowe and his staff.
Lafont is the No. 1 receiver for E.D. White – a game-changing playmaker who caught 9 passes for 170+ yards and 2 scores in Friday’s playoff win over De La Salle.
E.D. White coach Kyle Lasseigne said he’s so proud of his senior, saying that Lafont is a good player, but also a good person – a guy who is going to go to Nicholls and have a chance to succeed right away.
“He liked the plan they had for him. He’s going to have the opportunity to contribute right away there,” Lasseigne said. “He’s had a great year, but he’s also a great leader on our team and someone that our guys rally around. We couldn’t be prouder of him or happier for him with all of the hard work he’s put in.”
Lafont is a big weapon. He stands 6-foot, 4-inches and weighs 200 pounds. He has good hands, but also runs and jumps well with a 4.6 40-time and a quality vertical leap, as well.
