The Vandebilt Catholic girls’ basketball is out of the Top 28.

Multiple sources have confirmed to By-U Sports tonight that the Terriers were being investigated for possibly playing an ineligible player this season, which could result in the team losing its spot in the field.

The Terriers were scheduled to play Madison Prep tomorrow afternoon in Hammond.

Multiple sources have alerted By-U Sports tonight that the players have been informed of the LHSAA’s decision. A parent of a player has informed By-U Sports that the team is in danger of forfeiting.

The school confirmed those rumors in a statement tonight, saying that they played a student-athlete who did not meet the academic requirements of the LHSAA for the close of the fall semester.

Principal Ginny Medina-Hamilton released that statement, saying that the team was removed from postseason play as a result of that.

Madison Prep will receive a bye to the Division II Select Finals.
