Stay hot, Gavin Dugas.

The Houma Christian School graduate turned LSU National Champion is scorching hot to start his first full professional season in Single-A ball for the Washington Nationals.

Dugas has played 6 games this season and is 10-of-23 at the plate with a .435 batting average and 6 RBI. Dugas is second in the Carolina League in batting average with his .435 clip, trailing just fellow prospect Trayden Hall. Dugas’ 4 doubles are tied for the top of the Carolina League.

Dugas was a 6th Round Pick of the Nationals in last season’s draft. He played a few minor league games last fall after his college baseball season, then used the offseason to rest and recover some nagging injuries, while also getting bigger, faster and stronger.

Dugas has been razor sharp at the plate, posting 4 multi-hit games in his 6 contests. He also has drawn 4 walks to post a .536 on-base percentage.
