The Terriers played maybe their best game of the season in the win. They dominated the game, rolling to a 7-0 lead, then holding on after a Buckeye late-game rally to seal the win.

Vandebilt had huge expectations coming into the season, finishing as the Division II Select State Runners-Up last season, and returning the core of their roster in 2024.

But the Terriers endured some early-season hiccups, in part because of the pressures the team was putting on itself to thrive. Coach Jeremy Duplantis said that the Terriers stopped talking about Sulphur midway through the season and they never looked back. They finished the season winning 20 of 21 games, then cruised in the playoffs to win the State Championship.

The Terriers were in control throughout on Saturday, applying offensive pressure and dominating every phase of the game, getting an early lead and never looking back.

It is the 15th State Championship in school history for Vandebilt softball – the most in LHSAA history.
