In a tie game in the bottom of the 9th inning, the LSU baseball team relied on the power of the ‘Blue Boot Bomb’ to push past Auburn.
LSU beat Auburn 4-3 on Saturday, winning the weekend SEC series by winning the first two games of the series.
Josh Pearson hit a walk-off base hit with the bases loaded to seal the win – a deep fly ball that sailed over outfielders’ heads, plating the winning runner.
Pearson is one of several LSU players rocking custom made cleats this weekend honoring Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation and the Blue Boot Rodeo. It marked the second-straight game that the Tigers’ ‘Blue Boot Bombers’ had big games. On Friday, Tommy White hit a home run and Alex Milazzo had a clutch 2-RBI hit.
Tonight, White hit a home run again and Milazzo set the stage for the 9th inning rally with a base hit before Peason’s clutch base hit.
The LSU baseball team have been huge supporters of the Blue Boot Rodeo since its inception.
The Tigers are now 2-0 on the season since rocking with some ‘Blue Boots’ in their dugout.
