A local prep basketball standout has earned her 9th Division I scholarship offer this week – from a team that’s annually in contention to make the NCAA Tournament.
Vandebilt standout forward Journee Johnson announced on social media that she has received a scholarship offer from Jackson State – the defending SWAC Champions.
Johnson will be a junior this coming season. This is her 9th Division I scholarship offer. She has earned attention at the collegiate level because of her versatility, shooting ability and elite defense.
Johnson is a 6-foot guard who can defend all 5 positions. Offensively, she also has quality handles and elite scoring ability with the ability to score at all three levels.
She continues to collect offers due to her strong play on the AAU circuit and also with Vandebilt.
She competes with Louisiana United, joined with some of the other best players in the state.
