A pair of local high school basketball standouts were part of an elite AAU team that won the 2024 PUMA National Championship this weekend.

Vandebilt standouts Journee Johnson and Tyanna Stewart were two of the United members who are contributing members of the team, which has had a wonderful summer – riding their talent all the way to the National Championship. Both players are standouts for the Terriers – young ladies who are actively receiving collegiate offers.

Louisiana United is an elite travel basketball organization on the AAU circuit. The team has multiple teams across multiple age groups with roster members being among the elite players in the state.

For Johnson and Stewart and United, earning the National Championship is the continuation of a strong summer. The team has played all around the Southeast and beyond throughout the summer and has enjoyed great success, beating several top teams. In the finals, United beat Carolina Elite 61-52 in the event, which was hosted in Pennsylvania.

Congratulations to the ladies on a job well done!
