A local offensive lineman is going to represent his university at the upcoming Southland Conference Media Days.
Southeastern Louisiana senior lineman Jhy Orgeron will represent the Lions at Media Days, which will be held from July 21-22 at the Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio.
Orgeron will be joined by his head coach Frank Scelfo and also teammate and fellow lineman Brockhim Wicks.
Orgeron is a South Lafourche High School graduate who has been a multi-year starter for Southeastern. Orgeron started at left tackle for the Lions in 2022, earning All-Conference honors. He started at right tackle in 2023 and also was a contributing piece to the team.
Orgeron is hoping to wrap up his collegiate career with a bang and is hoping to help lead the Lions to a turnaround. Southeastern struggled last season and finished 3-8. The Lions have several key returnees this season and figure to be a contender again in the Southland.
The former Tarpon is a 6-foot, 4-inch, 285-pound lineman. He hopes to have a big senior season in hopes of pursuing a possible career at the professional level. But if that doesn’t work, Orgeron does have studies to fall back on. A senior in Management, Orgeron is twice a member of the Southland Conference Academic Honor Roll Team.
