A Vandebilt Catholic standout has announced his collegiate destination.
Terriers standout Jahyri Coleman announced on social media that he is signing with South Arkansas Junior College – his home for the next two seasons.
Coleman was a multi-year starter and standout for the Terriers who was among the top players in the area.
He was a speedy top of the order bat who was also an elite defender in center field. Coleman also pitched some big innings in relief for a Terriers team that made it to Sulphur every year of Coleman’s varsity career.
With South Arkansas, Coleman is going to try and further prove and establish himself in hopes of signing with a Division I program after his sophomore season.
It is expected that Coleman will be an outfielder at the next level. The Stars were 41-24 last season and made it to the 2024 NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series.
Coleman said he wanted to thank his family, teammates and coaches for their support. He also wanted to thank the staff at South Arkansas JUCO for believing in him and giving him the opportunity.
