One of the biggest arms in the area in the 2024 graduating class is continuing his career at the next level.

Vandebilt Catholic righty John Wade is going to be enrolling at Belhaven in the 2025 collegiate baseball season.

Wade has enjoyed a highly decorated career with Vandebilt, being part of a State Championship team, a State Runner-Up team and also multiple State Semifinalist teams.

With Vandebilt, Wade has been a versatile arm that has enjoyed multiple roles. He has been a starter, reliever and closer. Last season, Wade evolved to a back-end, high leverage reliever for the Terriers – especially down the stretch of the season. He had several clutch saves and big outings to help the team win some key games. Coaches said Wade likes the big moments and has a desire to have the ball in pressure situations, which made him a natural fit for that role.

With Belhaven, Wade will be joining fellow local prospect Drake Detillier, the South Terrebonne catcher who also signed with the team after his senior season.
