A Vandebilt Catholic High School standout has made school history.
Standout Jaylon Coleman became the leading rusher in school history in recent weeks, surpassing previous record holder Elijah McGuire, who held the record for more than a decade.
Coleman has also surpassed 5,000 career rushing yards for his high school career – another amazing feather in the cap of one of the most decorated players in the history of Vandebilt football, but also of the entire Bayou Region.
Coleman is a 4-year starter for Vandebilt who has succeeded since Day 1 on campus. Coleman had an injury-filled 2023 season where he was banged up and not at 100% for a lot of the year. This season, he has gotten healthy and has come back with a vengeance with several huge performances. This season, Coleman has had a 99-yard touchdown run and several highlight moments.
The 4-star prospect is a commitment to Liberty and is regarded as one of the top athletes in the state.
He said it’s his goal to finish the season strong and to try and push the Terriers as far into the playoffs as possible.
