H.L. Bourgeois will have a new head baseball coach in 2025.
Multiple sources have told By-U Sports this week that Braves coach Josh Smith has been relieved of his duties – a decision that was reportedly made this past week.
Smith was the coach for the Braves for the past several seasons. He had success, leading the team to the playoffs and then helping navigate the team through rebuilding in the past few seasons.
The Braves were 14-19 this past season. The team struggled with consistency, having both winning streaks and losing streaks during the season.
During Smith’s tenure, he worked hard to rebuild the culture of the program. His teams sent multiple players to the collegiate ranks and his Autism Awareness Game was one of the most anticipated games of the year.
Smith is also active coaching in the summer with the Southland Hogs and also was an active volunteer for the Terrebonne General All-Star Baseball Game.
