Wow. What a way to get your first-career NFL TD!
Houma native and Tennessee Titans receiver Tay Martin had one of the plays of the week in the NFL in Week 18, making an amazing touchdown reception – the first of his career.
Late in the game, Martin caught a pass from quarterback Will Levis that looks like a sure interception. Martin slid under the football and undercut the waiting safety, sliding in to make the touchdown grab.
Martin is a graduate of Ellender Memorial. He played his college football at Washington State, then Oklahoma State. He has been in the NFL for the past few seasons, bouncing around the San Francisco 49ers and then now the Tennessee Titans practice squads. This was not Martin’s first time being active, but it was his signature NFL moment.
It was Martin’s only catch of the game – a 49-yarder for the score.
