A local man will be leading a collegiate athletic department into its future.
Millsaps College announced today that Justin LeBlanc will be the school’s new Athletic Director. LeBlanc is the women’s basketball coach at Millsaps and also previously was the associate athletic director at the school.
On January 1, 2025, he took over his new duties.
“Justin embodies the values and spirit of Millsaps,” said Frank Neville, president of Millsaps College. “His demonstrated success as both a coach and administrator, combined with his deep connection to our institution as an alumnus, makes him the ideal candidate to lead our athletic department into its next chapter.”
Leblanc has enjoyed big success at Millsaps. The Majors had a dominant 2023-2024 season, leading the school to their first NCAA Tournament since 1996, while breaking the school’s single-season record for wins.
He also became Millsaps’ winningest coach on November 30, 2024 when he secured his 130th victory at the school. Leblanc is a three-time Southern Athletic Association Coach of the Year.
He has been Millsaps’ head coach since 2016.
“Millsaps athletics has been a huge part of my life for nearly two decades. From my time as a student-athlete to coaching and administration, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of our athletic department and its programs,” LeBlanc said. “In this role, I look forward to helping our student-athletes and coaches achieve new heights on the field and in the classroom. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to President Neville for his confidence in me and the opportunity to serve in this capacity. LeBlanc is a graduate of Millsaps and his time at the school now spans almost 2 decades. He graduated the school in 2006, then started his coaching career as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball team. He then worked at Centenary College where he helped lead that school’s women’s basketball program to its first postseason in 2 decades.
LeBlanc has been more than a coach at Millsaps. As associate athletic director, he demonstrated his ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining excellence in both sides of the job.
Before college, LeBlanc was a multi-sport student-athlete at South Lafourche High School.
