LCO’s girls’ basketball team left no doubt.

The Bulldogs won their 4th-straight parish championship on Monday, scoring a 43-16 win over rival Golden Meadow to finish the parish slate unbeaten and win the championship.

Coach Randee Shields said after the game that she was so proud of the kids, also announcing that she will not be back with the team next season.

”This group will forever hold a special place in my heart as they will be the last group of kids I coach at LCOMS for now,” she said. “I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to coach these young women for the past 4 years to 4 parish championships.”

On Monday, LCO saved maybe their best performance for last.

8th grade guard Kinsley Terrebonne made plays and was dominant throughout the game, scoring a game-high 14 points in the win. Alaya Guidry and Braelyn O’quin were also big in the win with 7 points each.

LCO had a dominant season from start-to-finish, using their depth and strength in numbers to ride to another parish title.

Before the game today, Shields said in a radio interview that she was proud of all 16 players on the roster, calling them a pleasure to coach.

”These kids love to work hard,” she said. “It’s been a pleasure to be part of their journey.”
