CCA’s amazing 2024-2025 soccer season ended in heartbreak tonight in one of the most thrilling matches of the season.
No. 2 Ascension Episcopal beat No. 7 CCA 2-1 in the Division IV State Quarterfinals on Saturday, ending the Lions’ season.
Ascension Episcopal and CCA went at one another in an outstanding match that was too close to call after regulation. In extra time, the No. 2 seed burst through and put in the Golden Goal, scoring to go on top 2-1.
The Lions tried to rally for an equalizer to send the game to penalty kicks but were unable, sealing the win for Ascension Episcopal.
The Lions season will end with a 14-6-3 record.
