A CCA graduate has muscled his first collegiate home run.
John Melvin sophomore JT Teuton hit his first collegiate big fly in a game this week, continuing a hot streak for the local.
A Houma native, Teuton is a 2-year starter for John Melvin. He had a good season with the bat and glove last year, but took one deep this week, hammering a pitch deep over the wall for a Millers team that is 8-2 on the young season.
Teuton told By-U Sports recently that he had a great offseason and he felt that he was in the best shape of his career.
John Melvin has several local players on their roster and they have been solid throughout the start of the season, showcasing that talent.
Teuton was a multi-year standout with CCA before getting to the collegiate level – a slugger who played on multiple teams that made deep playoff pushes throughout his prep career.
