A local slugger is continuing to hit the cover off of the ball to start her softball season.
Houma Christian graduate and Northwest Florida State College slugger Hailey Henry is off to a mammoth start to her true freshman season, dominating and playing at a high level to help her team.
Henry was named the FCSAA Softball Player of the Week this past week after a monster week at the plate. Henry hit .500 at the plate this past week with 2 home runs, 12 RBI and 9 runs scored.
Henry has gone to the next level and been a force. For the season, she is hitting .447 with 6 home runs and 26 RBI. She has been extremely consistent this season, logging big hit after big hit to help her team.
To those in our area, news of Henry’s successes is not surprising. She was a monstrous bat for the Warriors for multiple seasons – a threat to go yard or get an extra base hit every time she took the plate.
