A busy week in sports has led us to another week of handing out our Gengatorz Power Players of the Week, so let’s go.
There are all sorts of sports going on locally, so there were so many big performances to choose from.
GENGATORZ BOYS’ POWER PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jude LeBoeuf, South Lafourche golf – The South Lafourche senior has continued his strong play on the links for the Tarpons, helping lead the team to another tournament title. On Tuesday, LeBoeuf shot a 37 to win another individual title. He has been solid throughout the course of the season and is unquestionably one of the best golfers in our area, a student-athlete who is already a college signee.
GENGATORZ GIRLS’ POWER PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Makayla Charles, Vandebilt Catholic – How could it be anyone but Makayla Charles for Gengatorz Power Player of the Week? The Terriers’ senior standout gutted up and played a dominant fourth quarter to help rally Vandebilt past Madison Prep to roar to the school’s second-ever Division II Select State Championship. The ‘Bayou Bully’ took MVP honors in the game for her efforts.
