A local coach has very likely again broken a Guinness World Record for is immense strength and stamina.
South Lafourche track coach Brendan Adams set a presumed World Record for most ring muscle ups with a 20 lb pack in a minute. Adams performed the act earlier this month. He did 13 reps.
Adams became a Guinness World Record holder for the first time earlier this year when he did 8 ring muscle ups with a 40-pound pack, breaking the previous record of 6.
This time, Adams set a new record. He said he is awaiting approval from Guinness on his form and technique being proper, but assuming that approval is granted, he will be the new record holder in the event.
”A muscle ups in Guinness is performed by doing a pull up then continuing to bring your body higher over the rings by doing a dip until your hands are on the sides of your hips,” Adams said. “Guinness is very particular on form. There’s no kipping and they are very strict on form.”
Adams said he was satisfied with the number that he posted and he wanted to thank the community for their continued support.
He said he also wants to thank the team at CrossFit Brackish in Larose for allowing him to use their facility to set the record.
