The Ellender Patriots got a 6-5 win over Assumption in district play on Tuesday night, scoring a much-needed win as the team chases the postseason.
The game came down to the final at-bat with a 1-run game and Assumption’s cleanup batter coming to the plate.
Patriots’ arm Dakota Porche stepped up huge with the game on the line, delivering maybe his best pitch of the game for a called strike three to clinch the win for the Patriots in a road thriller.
