A Nicholls standout for the past 2 seasons has announced his transfer portal destination.

Guard Robert Brown III announced that he is transferring to Stony Brook, the place he will play next season.

Brown averaged 13 points per game last season and had a huge role for the Colonels. He shot 36% from the 3-point line.

Brown entered the portal after the season – one of several Colonels to do so this offseason.

The decision to go from Nicholls to Stony Brook has to be with home at the heart.

Stony Brook has struggled. They were 8-24 last season and play in a similar-sized conference, the CAA.

The Colonels have been a regular contender in the Southland – an annual 20-win caliber team.

But Stony Brook is in New York – where Brown is a native. He was raised in Albany.
