An E.D. White graduate had a strong start today to help his team win a conference game.

Cardinals graduate and Arkansas State true freshman Tyler Weimer had a strong start on the mound for the Red Wolves in their win over Georgia State.

Weimer worked 3.2 innings and allowed just a lone run on two hits in 51 pitches. He lowered his season ERA to 5.85 in Arkansas State’s win, which improved the team to 10-10 in conference play.

Weimer was a force at E.D. White, but his true freshman season has come with bumps in the road.

He allowed runs in 3 of his first 4 collegiate appearances and had an ERA of 12.

But since that time, Weimer has settled in. He has worked his ERA back down after having allowed just 5 earned runs in his past 6 appearances, which have spanned 14 innings.
