Vandebilt Catholic will have a new Athletic Director in the 2025-2026 school year.

The school announced today that Athletic Director Kayla Vicknair will be resigning from her position at the completion of this school year.

Vicknair has been a faculty member at the school for 15 years and has spent the past several years as AD.

She is also the head cheer coach for the Terriers and has built that program to prominence. She will remain in that role as Cheer Coach into the future.

“It is bittersweet that I announce the closing of a 15-year chapter as a faculty member of Vandebilt Catholic,” Vicknair said. “I am grateful for my time serving Vandebilt Catholic in several roles, but most recently as Athletic Director. I will forever be thankful to have had the opportunity to work with such amazing students in a Christ-centered environment.”

Vicknair has worn many hats at Vandebilt. In her career, she has been a School Counselor, Admissions Director, Resource Director, Dean of Student Activities, Dean of Student Life and most recently, Athletic Director, where she helped guide an athletic department that has enjoyed immense success in recent years, winning countless championships, but also overseeing programs that were passionate about instilling integrity and life lessons into the student-athletes each year.

Vandebilt Principal Jeremy Gueldner said he wanted to thank Vicknair for her career of dedicated service.

“Over the last 15 years Mrs. Vicknair has served the Vandebilt Catholic community well in a number of roles,” he said. “In every position she has held she has been a tireless worker and an invaluable asset to our school community. Mrs. Vicknair’s focus on our students and their development has been a crucial part of our school’s success both on and off the field. While we are losing an excellent leader and role model for our students, I am excited that she will remain with the cheer program. A program that she has built from the ground up into a national powerhouse.”

The search for a new AD will begin immediately. Candidates should send their resume to Dr. Elise LeBoeuf at eleboeuf@HTDiocese.org.
