A former Nicholls guard is going to an annual contender for his next home.
Guard Michael Gray announced on social media that he has committed to Wichita State for his senior season. Gray has been a Colonel for the past two seasons. He started as a reserve, but worked his way up to become a feature player – if not the team’s go-to player late in games.
Gray averaged 11.1 points per game, but had a crazy stretch in the middle of Southland play where he scored 19 or more points in 6-straight games before cooling off a little after a late-season ankle injury.
Gray entered the portal in the offseason. He received interest from several programs around the country.
With Wichita State, Gray will be joining a program that is usually in NCAA Tournament contention. Last season, the team made the NIT.
