It’s a messy week this week in the Bayou Region with tons of rain.

But rain or shine, the CCA baseball team vows to be ready for Friday night at 7 p.m. for a Quarterfinals Playoff date with St. Frederick.

Teuton said that the Lions have been practicing hard this week and have been locked in, looking forward to their next playoff game.

Teuton said that CCA has had one of their better weeks of work and have been laser focused after a ho-hum, but somewhat sloppy 4-0 win in the playoffs last week over St. Martin’s to improve to 35-0 on the season.

Teuton said the mood this week has been good and he is ready to see his team get back out on the field and compete.

“We’re ready,” Teuton said. “We’ve had a great week so far. The kids are locked in. They’re focused. We are ready to get out there and play.”

Teuton said St. Frederick will provide a great challenge. They have an LSU signee in William Patrick at the middle of the order and also a college signee on the mound.

But Teuton said his kids love facing the best and he thinks CCA will play at an elite level.

The Lions had more than 2 weeks off between the end of the regular season and their first playoff game. He said he expects the team to be sharper on Friday.

If the Lions win on Friday, they will advance to Sulphur for the second-straight season. The Lions are also trying to finish an undefeated season – the first-ever 38-0 season in LHSAA history.

Teuton said CCA and St. Frederick are also monitoring the weather, but as of now, the game is still scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.

Teuton added that he’s been in contact with the opposing staff and both sides know that there is a chance that the start time of Friday’s game could be fluid.

“But as of now, the plan is to roll at 7 p.m. on Friday,” Teuton said. “And we’re going to be ready.”
