A Terrebonne High School freshman earned a scholarship offer from Nicholls – one week into her prep career.
Lady Tigers’ post player Londyn White got an offer from Nicholls after a strong showing at the Colonels’ team camp this week.
White is a multi-sport standout who excelled at Houma Junior High and is now at Terrebonne. She joins Imerii Ingram as two 9th graders in our area to hold Nicholls offers.
White said she is appreciative of Nicholls for the offer and her focus is on continuing to get better as a player in every aspect.
“It just felt so unreal to me, especially when I’m just an upcoming freshman,” White told By-U Sports of the offer. “This feels amazing and I can’t wait to grow even more into the game to get better. This is a huge milestone for me and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow.”
White is a special player. She is growing into her body and is realizing her strength down low, dominating the glass, while developing a soft touch in the paint.
She was a force in middle school and has already shown her chops at the prep level – enough to earn the attention of the Nicholls staff.
White has athletics in her blood. Her mother Sierra Lyons was an All-District standout in 3 sports at Terrebonne, excelling in volleyball, basketball and track. She won a State Championship in track at shot put.
She played college volleyball at Xavier, then at Nicholls.
White is following in her mother’s footsteps and is dominating in several sports, as well with volleyball, track and field and softball.
To be offered by Nicholls at such a young age marks a massive feather in her cap, but also a predictable one. In addition to her school sports successes, White has been a standout in Biddy and in travel sports her entire career.
