A South Terrebonne standout is headed to the next level.
Corner infielder Lincoln Dupre announced on social media today that he is going to continue his career at John Melvin Christian College – a school which has accumulated several local players in recent years.
Dupre is a 5-10, 200-pound corner infielder with some pop in his bat. He has been a multi-time All-District player and a steady piece in the lineup for the Gators throughout his career.
Dupre was part of a South Terrebonne team that made the second round of the Division II Non-Select State Playoffs last season. With John Melvin, he will have a chance to earn some early playing time and make his mark at the collegiate level in hopes of possibly landing at a larger school later in his career.
Dupre has a solid glove and handles the bat well, hitting prolifically for both contact and also power. In addition to his work on the diamond, Dupre was also a standout football player for the Gators.
