Two power arms who led their teams on deep playoff runs headline the 2025 All-Bayou Region Baseball and Softball Teams.

Vandebilt State Champion pitcher Lauren Baudoin won Bayou Region Softball Most Valuable Player with CCA standout Owen Trosclair taking the same honors for the boys.

The All-Bayou Region Baseball and Softball Teams consist of the top players nominated and selected by working media in Terrebonne, Lafourche, Assumption, St. Mary and St. James parishes.

Baudoin took home MVP honors after a dominant season. She shares top honors with her coach, James Spearman, who took home Coach of the Year Honors. Baudoin was in the circle for the Terriers as they won the Division II Select State Championship for the second-straight season. The 2025 title came in Spearman’s first as the team’s head coach.

Baudoin was dominant in all phases of the game, posting a 24-1 record in the circle with a 1.10 ERA, posting 226 strikeouts. Baudoin could have just as easily earned All-Region honors as a hitter where she hit .380 with 3 home runs and 29 RBI.

On the baseball diamond, Trosclair takes home the Baseball MVP honors – also sharing the stage with his coach, Joe Teuton, who won Bayou Region Baseball Coach of the Year.

CCA had one of the best baseball seasons in the history of the LHSAA in 2025, breaking the state record with 36-straight wins to start the season before faltering in the Division IV Select State Semifinals against Ouachita Christian.

Trosclair was outstanding throughout the season, posting an 8-1 record with 60 strikeouts and a 1.12 ERA. At the plate, he was also dominant, hitting .464 with 2 home runs, 40 RBI and 22 stolen bases – enough to win State MVP Honors in Class 1A.

Voting for MVP and Coach of the Year was competitive. In softball, Baudoin outlasted Lila Alleman of Assumption, Shelbie Gros of E.D. White, Bella Trosclair of CCA and Kumarigrace Nadar of Berwick.

Spearman took Coach of the Year over consideration over Assumption coach Hodge Thibodaux, E.D. White coach Juli Darden, CCA coach Chad Quick and Houma Christian coach Christi Crowdus.

On the baseball side, Trosclair took MVP over consideration from Kyle Stansbury of Berwick, James Guidry of Vandebilt, Jax Triche of E.D. White, Brody Trosclair of Thibodaux, Mason Canter of CCA and Brayden Clement of South Terrebonne.

Teuton took Coach of the Year honors over consideration from E.D. White coach Matt Plitt, Vandebilt coach Chad Menard, South Terrebonne coach Mike Barba and Berwick coach Cody Ortego.

Voters for the All-Bayou Region teams included local sports media members and area sports contributors.

Chris Singleton with the Nicholls Department of Mass Communication spearheaded getting the ballots and stats together. Other voting members were our own Casey Gisclair, Seth Thomas, Sports Director of KBZE 105.9 FM; Connor Gisclair of KNSU-TV, Stan Gravois of HTV Sports, Terrebonne Parish Recreation Girls Supervisor Bobby Arceneaux and Chris Hunter of KWBJ-TV 39 in Morgan City.
