A local travel baseball team is holding its tryouts later this month for the upcoming season.
The Southern Sting 12U team is a travel baseball squad comprised of players from multiple parishes. Tryouts for this year’s team will be held from 3-5 p.m. on July 19 at the Lockport ballpark.
This is the Sting’s 4th season. The local travel baseball organization’s goal is to develop players at multiple positions and grow their knowledge of the game. The team will practice 2-3 times a week in the Raceland/Lockport/Larose area and will play between 12-15 tournaments during a season with a World Series event at the end of the year.
To signup, interested parties are asked to visit Southern Sting’s Facebook page and register their child. Players of all talent levels are welcome. The team is coached by John Martin.
