A local high school tennis standout is going to take his talents to the next level.
Messiah Montessori student-athlete Jon Nguyen signed to continue his playing career at Millsaps College – giving the local product a chance to further both his education and playing career.
Nguyen has been an outstanding student-athlete at Messiah Montessori for the past several years, competing and being ranked as one of the top tennis players at the prep level in the state of Louisiana.
He chose Millsaps with interest from other programs. He said he believed it was the program that best allowed him to continue to play, while also advancing his education.
Nguyen was a State Champion at Messiah Montessori and he told By-U Sports last year that playing collegiate tennis was his life-long dream.
He started the sport at age 5 and has been progressively getting better and working harder on his craft to get to this point.
