LSU got another defensive lineman commitment today as Brian Kelly and his staff continue to beef up the team in the trenches.
Florida 3-star defensive end DeAnthony Lafayette pledged this afternoon to the Tigers – the second commitment of the day for Kelly and his staff. Earlier today, LSU got a verbal pledge from defensive lineman Lamar Brown – the No. 1 player in the country, according to ESPN.
Lafayette is not as highly regarded as Brown, but he is a good one, too.
He is a 6-foot-1, 230-pound edge rusher with athletic ability and room to grow into his frame.
An Orlando native, he chose LSU over offers from Oklahoma and Miami, among others.
Lafayette is athletic, physical and has a way at getting to the quarterback. He had 17.5 sacks last season in 11 games. He also had 40 quarterback hurries.
He is LSU’s 16th commitment in a rapidly growing 2026 recruiting class.
