LSU’s starting quarterback made a very classy gesture on Monday at SEC Media Days, paying homage to a local product and former Tiger.

Garrett Nussmeier arrived in Atlanta on Monday and paid tribute to former Tiger and Thibodaux native Kyren Lacy, who died earlier this offseason. Nussmeier had Lacy’s No. 2 inside his sports coat and as he made his appearance on the stage, Nussmeier opened the coat and showed reporters and photographers his tribute to his former teammate.

Lacy was Nussmeier’s No. 1 receiver last season. Since Lacy’s passing, Nussmeier and members of the LSU football team have done their best to remember the former Thibodaux High School standout. At LSU’s Media Days last week, Nussmeier and the receivers took photos with memorabilia remembering the memory of the former player.

Lacy had 58 catches for 866 yards and 9 touchdowns last season. He had 16 touchdowns in the past 2 seasons for LSU.
