Assumption High School has named its new head baseball coach – the 3rd coach the school will have in 3 seasons.
Coach Wayne Turner was announced as the team’s coach today, replacing John Michael Collins who spent a season with the Mustangs.
Assumption struggled this past season, finishing with just 3 wins – a far cry from the 20+ win seasons the team would routinely enjoy under coach Jayme Coddou.
Turner will attempt to get the team back to a place of stability. He was announced assistant coach last year for the Mustangs and has been an assistant coach for football at the school for the past 9 seasons. Turner is an Assumption graduate in the Class of 1994 and has coached for 3 decades across multiple sports in the parish.
