The Nicholls State University men’s basketball team will have almost a completely new coaching staff next season under coach Tevon Saddler.

Saddler unveiled his 2025-2026 coaching staff today which has just 1 returnee and several new names. The returning coach in Thibodaux is coach Jovan Coleman, who was an assistant last season and who is coming back as Associate Head Coach.

Departing the staff are assistant coaches Dayshawn Wells, Stephen Rodgers and Director of Player Development/Recruiting Anthony Bennet Jr., as well as Director of Basketball Operations Ty Windy.

Joining Nicholls will be Darius Dangerfield, who has collegiate experience coaching at the collegiate level at Lafayette College in the Patriot League. He also was a college basketball player before becoming a coach.

Joining him is Tyler Guidry, who brings some Southland Conference flavor, as he was an assistant coach at UT-Rio Grande Valley during his career, while also serving as an assistant coach at Sam Houston State last season.

Darin Minniefield joins Nicholls’ staff and will be an assistant coach after having a solid career as a player, which then led to his opportunity to be a Graduate Assistant last season under John Calipari at Arkansas.

And lastly, Benjamin Daniel will join the Colonels as Director of Basketball Operations. He lands in Thibodaux after being a Student Assistant at Southern Miss.
