A local boxer is going to try and continue his undefeated streak in two months in El Paso, Texas.
Golden Meadow native Vik Hernandez (15-0, 13 TKOs) will headline a card on October 11 in a 10-round bout with Conrado S. Martinez – a bout that will be for the North American Boxing Federation Junior Featherweight Title.
Hernandez has been red-hot and is climbing up the charts. He is 3-0 in a busy 2025 so far – all knockouts. His latest win was maybe his most impressive win yet – a 10th round stoppage of Jayvon Garnett, who was previously 10-2.
Martinez is from the El Paso area and will be the hometown fighter.
But he will be an underdog on paper. Martinez is 11-2 but does not have heavy hands. He hasn’t scored a knockout in his entire career.
Martinez has 11 wins – all via decision, but several of his wins have come against opponents with lopsided records, including a win on last Saturday against 1-3 Jesus Marin in a 4-round decision.
Hernandez has heavy hands and Martinez has once been stopped. With another win, Hernandez could continue his climb up the charts in the featherweight division.
Victor Hernandez a.k.a. jalapeño kid trained Abilene dog pound boxing before he term bro for about six years here in Abilene Texas I also know Conrad Martinez personally good kid good boxer from guerrilla heavy hitters in Odessa Texas also his dad Iran Sanchez is an excellent coach good luck to both of these guys jalapeño kid will be the champion

Jalepeno in 5 if the other corner does their job 🥊
Conrad is from Odessa Tx and not El Paso Tx. He is not the hometown fighter but we love El Paso. We represent Odessa Tx. Much respect to his opponent but if you know anything about boxing and BOXREC and opponents, I believe Conrad has fought alot tougher competition. Anyone can fight opponents to Knockout in one round. We need rounds for experience not opponents to pad records. Let the best man win 👊🏾🦍
