The 2025 high school football season is getting close.
As we get ourselves ready for the Friday Night Lights, we are going to do a season preview on ALL of our local teams.
So let’s dive in. We are now into Terrebonne where we take a look at the Tigers of Terrebonne, who are poised for a big season in Tyler Lewis’ 4th season.
Let’s go.

TERREBONNE TIGERS
2024 record: 8-3
Head coach: Tyler Lewis
High Point of 2024: Destrehan: The Tigers got a share of the district championship after beating Destrehan and then losing to Hahnville, but Destrehan beat Hahnville. Make no mistake: That Destrehan win was huge for this football team. The Tigers have been ‘Bayou Good’, but to prove that they were capable of beating the River Goliath was a huge statement.
Low Point of 2024: The ending: Terrebonne carried a Top 10 seed into the Division I State Playoffs and were not able to get out of the opening round, falling to a very good Chalmette team that was underseeded. That was a heartbreaker. The Tigers are hungry still because of how that game ended. They are going to be ready to make those wrongs right in 2025.
Key Returnees: Quarterback Owen Oliver, halfback Alvin Celestin, defensive lineman Mason Coleman, offensive lineman Tadan Bingham, defensive lineman Julian Coleman and many others
Breakout player: Receiver Cris Delestre Jr. – It’s hard to pick a true breakout player for Terrebonne because they have so many solid and high quality returning players. But Cris is a solid player and he is going to get a lot of opportunities to shine in the new season. I expect him to shine and thrive.
Key to 2025: Handle expectations – Terrebonne is now a team expected to be good. That comes with a lot of responsibility. Terrebonne coach Tyler Lewis has said bluntly that the team wants to make it to the Superdome and he thinks they have the ability to make it a reality. It’s hard to argue with all of the college-level talent on the roster.
Casey’s Call: Hot take: Terrebonne is very likely going to be the top team in our area in 2025. I saw them in their scrimmage with Vandebilt and they looked the part. They have talent. They have size. They have depth. They have coaching. It’s a recipe that is looking like a perfect storm for an awesome season for the Tigers if they can keep everyone pulling in the same direction and stay healthy. We will find out early because goodness, that schedule is brutal. But brutal schedules get guys ready for the big time.
