A Thibodaux native is getting his start in coaching at the collegiate level this fall.
Thibodaux High School graduate Tyren Young is the cornerbacks coach for Louisiana Christian – his first foray into coaching after a decorated playing career.
Young was a standout for the Tigers as a player – a multi-faceted playmaker who played all over the field for Thibodaux during his time with the team.
After graduation, he played for Louisiana Christian and was a standout defensive back, earning several accolades including being a multi-time all conference performer for the team.
After exhausting his eligibility, Young wanted to stay involved, so he got into coaching and this season, he is working with his Alma mater, getting his feet wet on the other side of the sport as a coach.
Louisiana Christian opened their season last night with a tough loss at McNeese, but the team is expected to compete a lot more favorably once they face other NAIA programs.
I am so proud of you! ♥️
