The Nicholls football team has catapulted into the FCS Top 25 after a strong start to the 2025 season.
The Colonels jumped to No. 22 in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll.
Nicholls is 1-1 on the season and jumped into the Top 25 with a Week 0 win over then-Top 5 UIW.

No poll was released after Week 0, so the Colonels had to wait a week to get their Top 25 distinction.
But Nicholls also climbed even higher because this past weekend, the Colonels led FBS Troy going to the fourth quarter before the Trojans led a rally to secure a 38-20 win.
The nationally ranked Colonels will take on West Georgia on Saturday at John L. Guidry Stadium.
Joining Nicholls in the Top 25 is Southland foes UIW (No. 12) and Stephen F. Austin (No. 25)
