The 2025 high school football season is getting close.
As we get ourselves ready for the Friday Night Lights, we are going to do a season preview on ALL of our local teams.
So let’s dive in. We are done with Lafourche. Now, it’s time to jump to Terrebonne. We’ve done a few, but now it’s time to dive into CCA.
Let’s go.

CCA Lions
2024 record: 12-1
Head coach: Jesse Turner
High Point of 2024: The Push: CCA had the most successful season in the history of their school last fall, making a run all the way to the Division IV Select State Quarterfinals and going through the regular season unscathed and mostly unchallenged. Coach Jesse Turner has long dreamt of building a program like this. They have it rolling right now. It’s time to keep building.
Low Point of 2024: The Ending: CCA thought they were going to win it all last fall. Why shouldn’t they? They were unbeaten in the regular season and at home in the playoffs. But the Lions had some unfortunate injuries and a couple breaks that didn’t go their way in the final game of their season, which ended the ride a little sooner than the team hoped.
Key Returnees: Quarterback Owen Trosclair, linebacker Peyton Trosclair, running back Connor Lally, skill players Jesse Turner III and Jaden Carter among many others
Breakout player: Playmaker Kirt Townsend Jr. – Little Kirt was not so little in the varsity basketball season, showing some big skills despite being just an 8th grader. We fully think that the young standout is going to step up and have a huge role in this team. Also look out for Julien Blackmon as a big-time piece too.
Key to 2025: Health – The Lions are already beat up with some key pieces on the shelf and out to start the season. It’s to the point to where the team cannot afford to lose any more and keep its same level of competitiveness. I think the Lions are going to be challenged in the first month of the season, but this is a great chance to showcase some depth.
Casey’s Call: The Lions are going to be challenged early. Anyone who loses the pieces that they have lost would be. But I think they are too talented, have too much culture and are too well-coached for those losses to linger. I think CCA is going to be OK, and God willing, they can maybe get back to 100% at some point this season to allow their kids a chance at the season they have worked so hard for.
